Israel society was established after much controversy in 2004, and
since we have progressed into a diverse society welcoming all to join
the debate.
The mission of the Israel Society is to promote open understanding and
debate on issues to do with Israel. Israel society seeks to become a
model for peace, reconcilliation and dialogue; a place to express and
listen to different views without prejudice. We seek to set an example
for peace within our own campus and other universities by welcoming
all members and inviting speakers representing a wide spectrum of
opinion. We wish to represent, explore and celebrate all the diverse
cultures, religions and nationalities of Israeli society and to
demonstrate the multi-dimensional nature of the country to those who
view Israel as merely a one-sided political entity. We will be hosting
a number of social, academic and cultural events this year and invite
you to join the society and have your say. By acting as a platform for
interaction we encourage a free exchange of ideas and a chance to
participate actively in the society.
Peace in the Middle East.
